My Beloved Peggy

This afternoon FedEx delivered the oil portrait of my beloved Peggy, who died two days after I ordered the painting. I had hoped to have it hung as a surprise when she returned from the hospital.

I was so nervous as I opened the carton that my hands were shaking. As I was cutting the binder tape on the Styrofoam sheets to pull out the velvet bag my heart was beating double time, because I was prepared for the worst -- expecting it to be amateurish and expecting to be disappointed. It was not, and I was not. I was so relieved that I began to tear up as I gazed upon her lovely face.

It is a beautiful painting. The artist got all of the dimensions, perspective, facial features and color tones correct. His/Her skill is indeed impressive. I am still in disbelief that I could get an oil portrait of this quality for the price. Thank you for helping to ease the pain of my loss and providing me with another precious memory of my sweet girl.
